Privacy and Security
of Student Records Policy
Information security and privacy of personal information and learning accomplishments is a right of all learners. It is the policy of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) to ensure the privacy and information security of student's records are maintained by all staff charged with the role of input, maintenance, and release of records for students enrolled in the Building Operator Certification (BOC®) program. NEEC is committed to ensuring that student privacy is protected. This statement discloses any information for any and all of BOC program and website including what information is gathered and how the information is used.
NEEC is required to share student records with Federal granting agencies providing funding to the BOC® program under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). The records are used for grant reporting activity and may be used for evaluation purposes. No records will be shared with those other than grant administrators.
What we collect
NEEC collects the following information from students at the time of registration:
- name and job title
- contact information including email address
- other information relevant to attend classes
- payment information
The way we use information
No individual participant information and/or class results are made public without the consent of the student. The information is used for the following purposes:
- Internal record keeping.
- Improve our products and services.
- Periodic promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
- Market research and evaluation. We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail.
Sharing of data
The data collected may be transferred throughout the organization. NEEC will not sell individual information and will share it only with our advisors. If you have any questions about your privacy, please contact us at BOCInfo@theBOC.info.
