Building Operator Certification Northeast – Energy Efficiency Through Operator Training

Maintaining Certification

Continuing education following completion of BOC certification improves the ability of operators to cope with changing building equipment, technologies, and practices.

To remain certified, BOC graduates must accumulate re-certification hours. Five (5) hours per year are required for Level I, and 10 hours per year for Level II. Visit the national BOC web site for more information on qualifying activities for BOC re-certification hours.

The BOC program allows graduates to earn continuing education hours for attendance of independently-offered and in-house training classes relevant to their profession. It is not necessary for operators to attend classes offered through the BOC program to earn continuing education hours.
