Northwest
Energy Efficiency Council Receives ARRA Funding for Department
of Energy Project On
June 17th the Department of Energy announced that the Northwest
Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) was awarded $549,000 in funding
from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to support advanced
energy-efficient building technology projects. Funding will be used
to develop new curriculum to address energy efficiency knowledge
gaps in the existing national Building Operator Certification
(BOC®) program.

Receives Authorized Provider Status from IACET for BOC Training! The
Northwest Energy Efficiency Council has been approved as an Authorized
Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education
and Training (IACET), for its Building Operator Certification (BOC)
program. Approved Providers meet the widely recognized ANSI/IACET
1-2007 Standard for administering training and education.

Instructor named ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer (links
to ASHRAE Web site)
NEEC is pleased
to announce Hank Jackson, instructor in the North Carolina BOC
program, was recently named an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer. Distinguished
Lecturers provide ASHRAE chapters with noted authorities who speak
on relevant topics that impact the HVAC&R industry. The new
lecturers will serve a two-year term. There are 75 Distinguished
Lecturers representing 15 countries for 2008-09. Please join us
in congratulating Hank for this achievement.
