The BOC program is proud to announce Duane Lewellen as our new Training Manager. While not new to the program, Duane will be taking on a larger role for BOC in curriculum development and training program administration.

Duane also manages the Tool Lending Library at the Smart Buildings Center located in Seattle, Washington, another program of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council. Duane has been an instructor in the Building Operator Certification program for over 20 years teaching classes throughout the western United States. During this time Duane also participated in BOC curriculum development and was Adjunct Faculty at Edmonds (WA) Community College’s Energy Management Program.  Prior to joining the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council, Duane was a principal in a mechanical engineering consulting firm designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for commercial buildings and was a participant in the development of Energy Codes and Standards for the State of Washington.  Duane is an active member of the Association of Energy Engineers and was recognized as the Region V “Energy Manager of the Year” in 2013. Duane holds an Associate Degree in Energy Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
