Von Kopfman has taught  with the BOC program for the past 4 years in the course areas of  I.E.Q., Sustainable Practices for Buildings, Energy Conservation, and H.V.A.C. Systems and Controls. Von holds a Master Mechanical License, is a Level 1 Thermographer, and is a RESNET Energy Rater.

He is the co-owner of Blue Dot Services in Topeka, Kansas which performs residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing services in Topeka and N.E. Kansas. He is also the President of I.A.Q. Solutions which perfoms larger building energy audits. Some notable buildings Kopfman has tested includes Kansas University’s Allen Field House, Kansas State University’s Bramledge Colliseum, O.U.’s Lloyd Noble Center, Boulder Colorado Public Housing, University of Minnesota Wedum Center, Kansas City Mo. Convention Center, Olive Garden, Timberline Steakhouse, Perkins, and Wendys, among others.

Von has been featured in The H.V.A.C News and has been a featured speaker at the Kansas Health Homes Conference, and The Maytag National Convention. He also founded www.forthesurvivors.org an resource based website for parents who have lost a child, after his son Jacob was killed in a work related accident. Von is currently working on a book called “The Letters Project”. Von is pictured with his son Jordan a technician at Blue Dot and Jacobs twin brother.
