Recently, a BOC participant shared a website with us that provides a community setting for sharing knowledge and improving practice in the profession of energy efficient building operations. Building Engineer Talk is designed to “provide training, resources and a community to Building Engineers from different markets by creating a place to discuss day to day operational challenges. In a constantly evolving industry such as ours we are faced with rapid industry changes from new codes to national leading initiatives like LEED and Energy Star, as well as technical challenges that often generate 100’s of question with limited resources to contact for clarification.”
The useful site is divided into categories of forums and blogs ranging from lighting and plumbing to how to best handle customer needs. Training videos are also available to view free of charge on relevant topics to today’s building operator and engineer.
You can visit the site by following this link: Building Engineer Talk
Hmmm. The idea sounds great, having a site for sharing building engineering knowledge among other engineers. However, the link in the post doesn’t go anywhere. Would you happen to have any idea if the site was moved or just not renewed? I’m guessing it was the latter.
Any other recommendations? I’ve tried joining a few but most aren’t necessarily for building engineers but more for traditional engineering trades and fields. We do need a place to talk about LEEDS and energy star program ideas. Let me know. Thank you!
