Are you a candidate for BOC training?

Past participants have included building engineers, stationary engineers, maintenance supervisors, maintenance workers, facility coordinators, HVAC technicians, electricians, operations supervisors, operations techs, resource conservation managers, energy managers, and others in the facility operation and maintenance field. For those not yet qualified for Level I or II, Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations is well suited for individuals who are exploring a career in or are new to the field of building operations and energy efficiency, as well as those in management and supervisory roles. The course includes seven parts that can be delivered over three full-day classes when delivered in person, and has been adapted to six half-day classes for virtual delivery. The total time commitment for this course is 18 hours. It is recommended that program participants have a high school diploma or GED.

We offer three levels of training

Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations (3 one-day classes)
Level I:
 Building Systems Maintenance (8 one-day classes)
Level II: Improving Building Operational Performance (7 one-day classes)

All training series consist of classroom training and in-class tests. Levels I and II include project assignments to be completed at the participant’s facility. Learn more and read class descriptions.

Training Certificate of Completion

Upon successfully completing BOC Level I or Level II course you will earn a BOC Training Certificate of Completion (TCOC) credential. You may also choose to sit for the Certification Exam to earn the BOC Certification and become a Certified Building Operator (CBO).

Upon successful completion of the Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations course you will earn a Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations Certificate. Successful completion of the course can be paired with one-year of experience for a student to meet eligibility requirements for BOC Level I.
