The City of San Mateo, CA is seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor. The Building Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of the City’s facilities including buildings, miscellaneous structures and parking lots. The supervisor assigns, supervises and participates in the work of the building maintenance crews who provide painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance services. The supervisor also develops plans and specifications and oversees the execution of related contract work.

The Public Works Department is comprised of the Engineering and Facilities Services Division, and the Environmental Services Division. Each division is led by a Deputy Director reporting to the Director of Public Works. The department is responsible for the City’s major capital projects and infrastructure including streets, street lights, traffic signals, publicly owned buildings, parking lots and garages, sewer and storm conveyance systems, wastewater treatment plant, pump stations, a major lagoon, and dam and levees.
The Public Works Department is committed to high performance levels and standards, utilizing best practices relative to performance management and team-oriented approaches. Each manager is responsible for ensuring the best possible performance of each employee and the accomplishment of the department’s collective goals and work plans.

Salary: $7,229 to $8,619 per month
