Video 1-DCAS Energy Management produced this training video to introduce building operators to Turbocor compressors, a new frictionless compressor technology that is contributing to an impressive reduction in cooling system energy usage at the Manhattan Municipal Building. The video features Joe Houghton, a Senior Stationary Engineer with the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services, who initiated the in-place rebuild of a set of centrifugal chillers, as well as integrating them into the building’s base BMS system. Joe is one of NYC’s “Heroes in the Basement.
