Attention BOC students, graduates and supervisors! Here is an opportunity for you or one of your colleagues to earn recognition for your dedication to improving the efficient operations of your buildings. The EBie Awards™ (EE-bees; short for Existing Buildings), are a national juried competition that take a fresh approach to improving the sustainability of existing buildings. Now in its third year, the EBies recognize unsung heroes doing incredible building retrofits around the country. The call for entries was opened on January 8th and is open until March 20th, 2014. A webinar will be held on January 30th to answer questions you may have. For details on registering for the webinar, contact:

The EBies work on a number of levels:
- They put a spotlight on real people who have implemented replicable solutions to measurably reduce waste, cut energy and water use, make lighting more efficient, and engage tenants in sustainability initiatives;
- They highlight great work in all kinds of buildings, from luxury residential towers to suburban office spaces to low-income housing;
- They serve as case studies that can guide and inspire building staff in the U.S. and beyond, increasing each winning project’s impact.
