The City of Port Townsend, WA is hiring for the position of Facilities Crew Chief.

Salary:    $27.89 ‐ $29.67/hour DOQ  Full benefits package.  Teamsters Union

The City: Port Townsend is a Victorian seaport community of about 9,000 on the Olympic Peninsula of Northwest Washington.    Just two hours from Seattle, the City features a spectacular natural setting, with a wide variety of recreational opportunities including fishing, hunting, hiking, sailing and kayaking. Port Townsend is also home to historic theatres, art galleries, and numerous festivals including blues, and fiddle tunes.  The Wooden Boat Festival and Port Townsend Film Festival draw large crowds every year.

The Position:  The Facilities and Fleet Crew Chief, under the direction of the Parks and Facilities Manager, performs a variety of work related to the oversight of the operations, administration, and management of the Facilities and Fleet division. Supervises full and part‐time Facilities and Fleet maintenance staff; develops and/or implements preventive maintenance program and capital replacement program; assists with budget planning, develops and maintains staff work schedules, timesheets and maintenance reports.  The Crew Chief inspects City facilities to ensure compliance with safety and health codes and conducts maintenance activities as needed.  Directs preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment, maintains inventory stocks and equipment parts needed for regular repair and maintenance and assists mechanic as needed.

Qualifications:  Three years of experience in a supervisory, management or lead position in facilities maintenance or applicable field – or ‐ equivalent combination of education and experience which provides applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job as outlined in the job description.   Ideal candidate has five years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field; experience with maintenance management software programs, and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
