Did you know that, starting next year, a new law will require all non-residential buildings bought, sold or financed in California to benchmark using ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager? The California Non-Residential Energy Benchmarking Law, known as AB1103, goes into effect in January 2014.

Southern California Edison (SCE) is providing free classes to educate members of the commercial buildings community on how ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager can be used to benchmark and track building energy usage. As an added benefit, the class also covers SCE’s free service to provide customers with their energy usage data tied directly to Portfolio Manager to help make benchmarking easier.

Two additional Benchmarking Energy Use in Commercial Buildings classes will be held during 2013, on November 14 and December 11 at SCE’s Energy Education Center in Irwindale. Please see the attached flyer for more information, including how to sign up for the class. More information regarding this training can be found here: Benchmarking Energy Use for Commercial Buildings 11-14-13

Monthly Benchmarking Energy Use in Commercial Buildings classes will be offered at SCE’s Energy Education Center in Irwindale during 2014. Details on those classes will be shared soon.
