This month’s Instructor Highlight features Angela Pilant, a BOC instructor who teaches Efficient Lighting Fundamentals.
Angela currently works on several energy efficiency programs in the Pacific Northwest as a Lighting Specialist for Evergreen Consulting Group providing efficiency measurement research and site consultations. She has been in lighting and energy-efficiency for over 16 years, working in various sectors throughout the industry- a Lighting Specialist for an Investor Owned Utility, Manufacturers Representative and in Distribution.
Angela says, “I thoroughly enjoy the experience of teaching the BOC sessions because of the diverse facilities that the participants come from. Having worked with commercial & industrial facilities over the years on implementing EE measures, I understand the processes that the participants will be going through at their own buildings. I try to incorporate this experience into the sessions and give them “real-life” examples of some of the challenging projects I have worked on. Giving them ideas on how to evaluate each opportunity and successfully implement them is also something that I try to integrate into my sessions.”
In her free time, she loves spending time with family, traveling, reading and hiking.
