DESCRIPTION: The Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist will evaluate, report, and repair equipment operations problems and emergencies in buildings within a college campus environment having multiple, non-contiguous buildings and facilities assets; Monitor and take appropriate action to return equipment to its normal design operability; monitor building systems operations and Automated Controls. Respond to emergency calls campus-wide (Emergencies may vary from gas leaks, indoor air quality conditions, smoke, hazardous material calls, etc. and minor complaints of room temperatures). Report malfunctions on mechanical, electrical, or utility systems, e.g., elevators. Apply journey-level knowledge in associated trades; work independently, occasionally without on-shift supervision and exercise independent judgment to solve problems; coordinate work with the Maintenance Department Lead’s, Maintenance Manager, and other mechanics during emergencies. Follow and maintain updated records related to all federal, state, and local safety regulations and applicable building and safety codes.
