Klickitat County Public Works is pleased to invite applications for Facilities Maintenance SupervisorThis position will plan, organize, schedule, supervise and monitor the work of maintenance crews engaged in the maintenance, repair, construction or operations of County Facilities located throughout the County to assure areas are well-maintained and safe.  This position is responsible for providing the expertise necessary to maintain a satisfactory facility environment to support activities throughout the county.  The successful incumbent will be available daily when county offices are open to respond to requirements involving electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and HVAC systems throughout county owned and operated facilities.  The responsibilities and activities described are a portion of the duties assigned and are based on the needs and priorities established by the Deputy Director of Public Works.  Therefore, variations to scheduled duties may occur at any time dependent upon specific circumstances and as directed.  This position will remain open until filled.  EOE.  An application is required to be on file to be considered for employment.  For more information and an application please follow this link.  http://www.klickitatcounty.org/Jobs.aspx.

Klickitat County facilities consist mainly of the County Courthouse, County Jail, Pioneer Center in White Salmon, five county annexes, county fairgrounds, three county parks, and other county owned and operated facilities.

Klickitat County is located along the Columbia River Gorge in south central Washington. It was founded in 1859 and provides beautiful rural settings, numerous outside activities and mountain views.  The economic history of the county includes sheep and cattle raising, wheat, orchards, timber, and advanced manufacturing. Klickitat County has three distinct economic regions. The western third of the county relies on advanced manufacturing, orchards and fruit packing, and wood products. The eastern third is dominated by vegetable farming and increasing numbers of wineries, as well as the Roosevelt regional landfill. The central third boasts the county seat, Goldendale, the Maryhill Museum, cattle, horse and sheep raising, windsurfing and kite boarding beaches.

This is a full-time position currently scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Supervisor’s office is located in Goldendale, WA.  The current salary for this position is $30.96 per hour.  Klickitat County offers a generous benefits package to include:  Life, health, dental and long-term disability insurance, state retirement, vacation leave, sick leave and holiday pay.
