This is an 8 hour, 260 day, non-represented Manager of Energy position. Hours for this position are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but may vary. Start date is October 1, 2014. This position is open until September 16, 2014, or until filled.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Energy and Operations is a member of the Mukilteo School District Support Services management team. Areas of responsibility are to ensure the District’s resource conservation plan objectives are met through utilization and analysis of current and historical data, management of resource conservation projects, regulatory compliance and facility use, education of district staff and students, and pursuance of grant opportunities.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Advise, assist and make recommendations to the Executive Director of Operations and/or Director of Facilities on alternate energy sources, consumption and general energy conservation measures.
Evaluate data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with policies, written procedures, and/or monitoring program compliance.
Maintain all energy and water consumption records and data. Maintain records of energy conservation grants received by the district.
Develop written materials, policies, and procedures as it relates to this position.
Serve as the District liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Provide input on capital projects and the purchase of products that affect energy consumption.
Coordinate usage of facilities and insure proper space utilization consistent with energy conservation.
Implement weekday, weekend, holiday, and summer shutdown checklists at every district facility.
Implement and direct district waste management program with the goal of reducing trash usage and increasing recycling.
Develop and manage the District’s indoor air quality program and serve as the primary contact for indoor air quality issues.
Coordinate the use of district facilities for after-hour and community use.
Direct the work of assigned classified staff.
Implement and comply with District policies.
Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours specified under contract.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field.
Ability to use multiple computer programs for communication, data input and analysis, scheduling, etc.
Demonstrated ability to use data to perform program evaluations.
Ability to identify trends and evaluate consequences.
Knowledge of safety standards, laws, codes, rules, regulations and specifications relating to facilities operations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management staff.
Demonstrated ability to work well with staff, and the general public exercising discretion and confidentiality.

Technical facility experience with knowledge of various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and knowledge of computerized energy management system (DDC – Direct Digital Controls).
Knowledge and experience in state, federal regulatory compliance related to facilities operations.
Familiar with local utilities Resource Conservation Management rebate and/or incentive plans.
