The American Society for Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) and other stakeholders in the healthcare facility operations industry are working to revise guidance on operating rooms’ air quality including humidity, temperature and ventilation requirements. We estimate this affects about 10% of BOC’s engineer audience.

“ASHE is working with several other organizations to address issues related to temperature, humidity, and ventilation requirements for hospital operating rooms and sterile processing departments. While these organizations work to create more unified standards and guidelines outlining these HVAC requirements, ASHE and other groups have issued important interim guidance for health care organizations and others affected by these regulations.”
