Position Summary | This person will provide educational programming expertise for Training and Technical Assistance initiatives delivered through the National Sustainable Structures Center (NSSC) at Penn College. This will include direct responsibility where appropriate for developing, implementing, and evaluating all components associated with residential, commercial, and agricultural sector training and consultation. This person will provide and/or assist the Director in 1) providing consulting services to energy utilities, the PA WAP, and other program clients; 2) providing leadership and educational support for the Weatherization/Home Energy Professional Certification Program; and 3) providing support for the development of commercial sector training programs, Career Pathways and Professional development. |

Responsibilities and Duties | Essential: -Assist the Director in the planning, implementation, and instruction of the following functional areas: *residential structures training programs *commercial structures training programs *agricultural energy assessments *building science consultation *other initiatives as determined -Assist the Director with technical expertise regarding exploration of new business opportunities related to education, consulting, or research in the field of residential housing and commercial structures. -Provide training to potential or new instructors for delivering the certified weatherization training and building operator curricula. -Provide in-field mentoring for Quality Control Inspectors. -Conduct Quality Control Inspections across the Commonwealth and provide recommendations and feedback to improve field work and training programs. -Conduct agricultural energy assessments and develop summary reports. -Provide by phone, email or other means timely answers to any technical inquiries submitted clients and students. -Work with grant funding agencies and energy utilities to provide assistance to, and oversight of, all weatherization field workers to ensure consistency and provide troubleshooting and field technical assistance as necessary. -Collect information from appropriate subject matter experts, updated Federal and State Guidelines, and collate in the form of recommendations to the Director. -Plan and conduct periodic (annual) continuing education workshops, seminars, and courses for certified Weatherization/Home Energy Professional workers. -Collect feedback to validate and/or provide recommendations to the Commonwealth for proposed continuing education units. -Deliver training and seminars or otherwise assist the Director and other Instructional Specialists withNSSC training courses a minimum of 50 percent of the employee’s time. -Perform or otherwise assist the Director and other Instructional Specialists in the creation and maintenance of course materials, training manuals, audio-visual aids, lesson plans, and curriculum including laboratory demonstrations and mock ups for the courses offered at NSSC. -Perform or otherwise assist the Director and other Instructional Specialists in performing research projects consistent with program goals. -Initiate the design, building, and maintenance of lab demonstrators and mock ups as needed. -Provide assistance in developing additional training programs to enhance weatherization professionals. -Work with Director to identify and secure instructional materials, supplies, and equipment to be utilized in the NSSC programs and maintain inventory of same. -Assist the Director in collecting data for reports for clients or as required by grant funding agencies. |
